How to NOT FAIL As A Real Estate Agent

Your Real Estate Success Depends on One Thing… YOU!

In the competitive realm of real estate, success is not merely a goal; it's a destination you can reach through basic practices. Here, we'll deliver five key areas that will propel your real estate career. Follow these tips to ensure success

1. Have your “Look”

Craft all of your marketing, social posts, postcards, and your entire personal brand on one key feature. For example:

  • Maybe you will always wear a Pink Dress

  • Maybe you will always wear a Steelers Jersey

  • Maybe you will always wear a Custom Suit

  • Maybe you can always wear a local brand’s merch

It doesn’t matter if you have rainbow hair or a brand new custom wrapped Tesla. Be sure that someone can relate you to your brand in an easy, fun way.

2. Mastering Follow-Ups:

I know, it’s boring. Effective follow-ups are the most crucial aspect of real estate success. A new client's journey doesn't after one text and two emails. People are busy, stay in front of them on a weekly basis with emails, texts, and calls.

On the other hand, previous clients journey does’t end at closing; it's an ongoing relationship. Send personalized follow-up emails (not boring Labor Day copy and paste images), make courtesy calls, and, most importantly, show genuine care for your clients' well-being. A satisfied client is not only more likely to refer you but may also become a repeat customer when they're ready to make their next real estate move.

3. Narrowing In on One Community:

Instead of spreading yourself thin across multiple neighborhoods, become a specialist in one community. This deep dive into a specific community enables you to truly understand its intricacies, market dynamics, and unique selling points. You'll quickly become the go-to expert for buyers and sellers in that area, building trust and credibility within the community.

4. Professional Photography:

First impressions matter, NEVER take iPhone photos. In real estate, first impressions are often formed through images. Invest in professional photography to showcase your listings in the best light. High-quality photos capture the essence of a property, drawing potential buyers in and making a lasting impression. A picture is worth a thousand words, and in real estate, it can be worth a sale, two sales, or an entire career.

Think of it this way. If you were shopping for a car online would you view the one with a 360 tour and high quality images, or the one with 3 photos that were taken with a blurry android?

5. 8x8 Campaigns:

The 8x8 camping will make you the go-to Agent in less than 8 weeks. It’s simple. Send out 1 postcard to every person in a community for 8 weeks straight. It’s will take you less than 2 hours every week, but will have an impact like you wouldn’t believe! Offer value in the postcards - not just “Hey! I’m a Real Estate Agent and here’s my QR code.” Some ideas could be:

  • September Summary - Find out how much your neighbors made selling their homes

  • Local Team’s Schedule - Yearly schedule of local professional teams. (People will likely put this on the fridge and keep it!)

  • Who’s this guy sending me post cards? - Introduce yourself AFTER you’ve send multiple value-driven post cards. Do NOT make this your first post card

6. Crafting Meaningful Content:

Today, content is king. To stand out in the crowded real estate landscape, create content that resonates with your audience. Remember that your audience is Buyers and Sellers - NOT other Agents. Share insights about market trends, homeownership tips, and local stories that matter. Engage with your audience by answering their questions and addressing their concerns. Whether through blog posts, videos, or social media updates, meaningful content showcases your expertise and fosters trust.

Incorporating these six practices into your real estate business can be transformative. By investing in these strategies, you're investing in the longevity and prosperity of your career.
